One of Greenville's best

GREENVILLE — To the editor:

To Chief Dan Busken

     Greenville Police Department

This is being written to let you know that Officer Turrentine is one of Greenville’s finest police officers. We know there are many others in the department just like him, but we only know this one man. The Police Department of Greenville should be very proud of Officer Turrentine because of his professionalism in carrying out the duties of a motorcycle officer.

Doing his patrol duties in this heat with a helmet on, wearing a dark uniform, probably wearing a bullet-proof vest and being able to keep his cool, must be quite a daily challenge. He is to be admired by his fellow officers because of his attitude and diligence.

My 82-year-old husband and I met Officer Turrentine yesterday morning, July 24, under a very stressful situation (to us, but not to him). We certainly appreciate his being so kind to us. We, as citizens of Greenville, are very proud of our Police Department and all of its men and women. Especially, we wish to commend Officer Turrentine for doing his job so well. He certainly deserves a raise ASAP.

Sincerely,

Virginia Keel
