Endorsing Cox

Herald-Banner Staff

GREENVILLE — To the editor:

We don’t often write letters to the editor and even more rarely endorse political candidates. But we could not pass up the opportunity to offer our wholehearted endorsement for Tyson  Cox.

Those who know us won’t be surprised that we endorse him. He is, after all, married to our daughter Jamie and is  the father of three of our grandchildren. But our feelings for him go much deeper than just family. We sincerely feel that Tyson is the best choice to represent the voters of District 1 on the city council.

Tyson is a wonderful husband, father and role model to his children. He is a fine Christian man who is proud of his conservative values. He is a successful businessman who is concerned about the future of his community and wants to do something to help. Tyson is not a politician and doesn’t just  tell you something because he thinks it’s what you want to hear. That may not always be what people want, but I think it’s refreshing. I know many of you have met Tyson in recent weeks as he has asked for your vote. I’m sure you have seen many of the qualities I speak of.

We can think of no other person than Tyson that we would want to represent us as a citizen. We trust him, and we know that he will always do what is best for the citizens of Greenville.

We know that Tyson feels that God has blessed him and his family. Greenville has been good to him as well. Tyson just wants to give something back.

We urge the residents of Place 1 to cast your ballot on May 11 for Tyson Cox.
