In appreciation

Herald-Banner Staff

GREENVILLE — To the editor:

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Auxiliary (DAVA) of Hunt County recently held our first pancake breakfast to benefit our veterans. We would like to thank all those who helped us make this event such a success.

A hearty thank you to the Elks Lodge for the most generous offer of their members, building and kitchen facilities. Secondly, the Cracker Barrel and IHOP both donated pancake batter, and Brookshire’s and Super 1 grocery stores donated gift cards for required purchases. Brookshire’s and Super 1 have always been staunch supporters of our veterans and are always ready to assist however they can.

We would also like to thank the GISD NJROTC who assisted us by directing customers to our breakfast and providing a youthful and energetic approach to the breakfast. They are a wonderful bunch of young men and women under the tutelage of Commander James Reed.

Additionally, the Herald-Banner was very supportive with their wonderful coverage of this event through a feature story about our organization and the event. The Herald-Banner has always been there to assist us as they were able.

Finally, we would like to thank the citizens of Hunt County who showed their appreciation and support of their veterans. All proceeds help our Hunt County veterans and their families.

The DAV and DAVA look forward to all our events which bring us into contact with not only our friends and neighbors but new friends as well.
