Looking at the negative

GREENVILLE — To the editor:

Re Heavy snow in March

I hope Mr. Ransom doesn’t decide to sell the Brooklyn Bridge to the City Council and the Hunt County Commissioners Court.

If they believe his latest snow job, they would buy it in a minute.

How does a $100,000 donation lower the proposed tax rate on the $15,000,000 YMCA bond from 7 cents to 3 cents? The donation is only for 10 years and the bond will take 25 years.

What happens from year 11 through 25?

Mr. Ransom keeps telling me that if a  person cannot afford to pay for a membership, they can use the facility free.

I have not noticed this verified by anyone as of this date.

If the taxpayers vote in favor of this bond, this will be the biggest boondoggle the city has ever had. I still remember the bank building that they were going to fill up with renters that never happened.

All we have heard are the positive issues, not the negative issues.
