To the editor:
In this coming election we have a chance to make some very important decisions for our future. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to learn as much as they can about the new YMCA and Events Center. This is a unique opportunity for us to vote in favor of a quality of life project that is desperately needed in our community. The YMCA has a rich history in our town dating back to 1895, and the current facility is in need of replacement.
For as little as $2 per month investment based on $100,000 home value we can have a new YMCA that will benefit everyone from our young children to our grandchildren, from young adults to seniors.
The Event Center will also help bring added events to town that the Civic Center cannot accommodate and with these events will bring much needed economic development that puts tax dollars back into our economy. In my opinion, the benefits far outweigh the negative and I ask that you vote for Prop. 2 on May 11.
