Greenville homeless in need

Herald-Banner Staff

GREENVILLE — To the editor:

The front page of the newspaper today (July 17), “Helping the Homeless.”

The need for a shelter is so needed for our county. Write letters to the newspaper, the county judge and city officials.

The homeless population will “increase,” help for the family.

We look to the need for food, more is needed in helping the family.

No one should be  “homeless,” without food and shelter. The Christians are saying we want to help.

The Bible reads, “Help the hurting.” Billy Graham in his crusades will preach help those in need. He is our brother, he is our neighbor. Love thy neighbor as thyself.

I was a volunteer once at a homeless shelter. Many of the homeless were women and children. The look in the eyes of a homeless child — there is no smile, no happiness, no laughter.

The homeless shelter should go forth, the need is great.

Citizens will be proud to have a homeless shelter in Hunt County.

Truly yours,

Dorothy Poole
