To the editor:
I wanted to voice my support for the new YMCA bond that is going before the voters. My family has been a part of the YMCA for a very long time. My children played sports there and now my grandchildren play sports there. The lessons they’ve learned are invaluable, such as teamwork, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
I’m a senior adult and I do activities at the YMCA throughout the week. I see the many children and families that are at the YMCA every day and the impact the programs are having. A new facility will just increase the reach of the Y and impact they can have on our community. The amount of programming that they currently do will only increase with a new facility.
Currently the YMCA is doing so much with so little and I’m excited about the increased effect the YMCA can have on our community. I’m a proud supporter of the Y and hope that you will join me in voting for a new facility that we so desperately need. Please vote for Prop. 2 on May 11.

Letter from Judge Steve Tittle
Editor's note: Because we ran letters to the editor regarding the upcoming March 4 elections longer than usual, the Herald-Banner extended an opportunity to both Judge Steve Tittle and Judge Andrew Bench to write a final rebuttal letter. Bench's letter can be found in today's print edition. Tittle's letter is below:
To the editor: Today is election day, and I encourage all Hunt County voters to vote. Make no mistake, there is an important option you have today regarding who will continue serving as your District Judge for the 196th Judicial District Court.

Enjoying Greenville lights
After a wonderful Christmas Eve Church service at Wesley United Methodist Church, my wife and I took a drive to look at Christmas lights.
Thank you for party
As parents of a Special Olympics athlete, we would like to thank everyone involved in the party Saturday for the athletes. It was a great party as usual and the athletes had a wonderful time.
