A judge of good character
To the editor:
As a retired educator I have always considered myself to be a good judge of character; in my judgment, I would consider Steve Tittle to be a judge of good character. I have enjoyed the pleasure of knowing Steve Tittle for the past four years as both a friend and neighbor. During that time and before, I have followed his career as a prosecutor and district judge. It is my opinion that Judge Tittle has performed admirably in his service to Hunt County, exemplifying dignity, honesty, and integrity along the way. I have no doubt that he can be trusted to continue doing so in the future.
More importantly, I will forever cherish the memories that solidify my assessment of Judge Tittle’s character on a more personal level. My sister spent her final years living in a house across the street from that of Judge Tittle. As a frail octogenarian in poor health, my sister was fortunate to have Steve Tittle for a neighbor. He exhibited kindness, compassion, and concern for my sister, and was always ready to help her with any need. His empathy, along with his vigilance in checking on her safety and well-being, provided comfort for our family.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude in words, but I will note that those qualities demonstrated by Steve Tittle, the friend and neighbor, parallel the character traits possessed by Judge Tittle. One has to look no further than the positive nature of his campaign, to find an example indicative of his conduct and professionalism.
I, for one, am confident that such attributes will serve the citizens of Hunt County well, and I ask you to join me in casting your vote to keep Judge Steve Tittle as district judge of the 196th Judicial District Court.

Letter from Judge Steve Tittle
Editor's note: Because we ran letters to the editor regarding the upcoming March 4 elections longer than usual, the Herald-Banner extended an opportunity to both Judge Steve Tittle and Judge Andrew Bench to write a final rebuttal letter. Bench's letter can be found in today's print edition. Tittle's letter is below:
To the editor: Today is election day, and I encourage all Hunt County voters to vote. Make no mistake, there is an important option you have today regarding who will continue serving as your District Judge for the 196th Judicial District Court.
