To the editor:
To the people of Greenville…
Adlai Stevenson once said, “patriotism is not a short, frenzied outburst of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”
This July 4th marks the 237th year since the founding of the greatest nation in the world, the United States of America. Over the course of those two centuries, we have remained free citizens of the greatest nation because of the many sacrifices that have been, and continue to be made by the men and women of our armed forces.
They more than anyone else have exhibited a tranquil and steady dedication to preserving our freedoms. Serving as an active duty soldier since being called up in March to Fort Hood, I see the sacrifices and dedication every day, and I am profoundly grateful for the commitment and service of each of our country’s military members, both past and present. It is an honor to be one of them.
I am just as honored to serve as the Greenville City Council member from Place 3 since being elected by the people in 2011. It is truly a privilege to serve as your representative, and I thank you for the trust you have placed in me.
May all of you have a safe and happy Fourth of July. May God continue to bless our United States of America and Greenville, Texas.
Member Greenville City Council, Place 3
