To the editor:
I don’t know anything about the opponent running against Dan Perkins except what I read in the paper, and I am not writing against anyone. However, I do know Dan Perkins and am convinced that he cares about Greenville and every citizen in the city.
I have lived down the street from Dan for 13 years and have had several times to seek his help and/or advice. I know he is a man of faith that seeks guidance from God in making decisions and helping other people. He is honest and sincere in his relationships and believes that individuals who live here should be the concern of the city government without consideration of their social standing or financial status. He has helped many people and does not make a show of it.
When I first moved to Greenville I had some issues with city services but could get no one to listen. I found out that Dan was my councilman and called him. He immediately called the right people, and I received the help needed. He is a busy man but always seems to find time to give attention to those who call on him.
I believe that we need men like Dan helping to make the important decisions that face our city. Even when I thought that things should have been decided differently, I knew he had given thought and prayer to his vote.
You cannot go wrong by returning Dan Perkins to another term on the City Council.
