Hooray for story

— To the editor:

‘Hooyah’ to ‘Ooh-rah’

Congratulations, William Francey, for your successful road to manhood. Thank you, Amber Pompa, for your worthy article about this young man’s journey. Good job Greenville School District for implementing the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps in Greenville High School. Thumbs up, parents, for being there for your son and never giving up.

I am associated with the MOAA (Military Officers Association of America), and I have had the privilege of being in the midst of the NJROTC cadets. I have watched these fine young women and men volunteer in our great community with pride. I have watched these cadets in action participating in various military based events. These cadets always conduct themselves with pride and extreme professionalism. Our community can be proud that Greenville has a program to shape the lives of these students. Some which could be classified as “the ones that fell through the cracks.”

A special thanks goes to Lt. Cmdr. James Reed and Master Sgt. Clifford Turner  for your hard work and genuine dedication you have demonstrated in shaping the lives of these cadets. You are making a positive difference in each and every one of their lives. Can you imagine, this is happening at Greenville High School in Greenville, Texas!  ‘Hooray’!
