To the editor:
After a wonderful Christmas Eve Church service at Wesley United Methodist Church, my wife and I took a drive to look at Christmas lights.
I had been advised of some lights on the northwest side of town. Oh there they were, and many more than I had expected.
The main area we viewed lights were north of Polk Street and between Sayle and Walnut streets. The best of all of them was on Up The Grove just north of Polk. Even driving north on Walnut from Lee St. there are several homes with wonderful lighting and other decorations.
I do admit that Park Street does have a lot of beautiful lighting and décor. I appreciate what they do. But there are also many other areas also. Windy Hill just off Stonewall had some nice ones also.
We did not have a chance to get around all of them, but in years past the neighborhoods south on US 69 have had really nice lighting and décor. And then there was downtown Greenville. I really liked the trees at the Hunt County Courthouse.
I do hope there were others that got to enjoy all the splendor in Greenvilleduring this wonderful Christmas. But just remember the reason for the season.
