Jack Ingram

Jack T. Ingram left us on the morning of Nov. 3, 2009.

He was doing what he loved, walking. Jack worked for the Texas Employment Commission before becoming a professor of law at East Texas State University. It was in this capacity that he touched many lives of his students and colleagues alike and formed lifelong friendships.

Jack was born in 1930, and spent his childhood in Denison. He graduated from the University of Texas and was a lifelong UT fan, making all of the home games and many away games. Jack served as a lieutenant in the US Army and saw duty in Japan before earning his law degree from SMU.

He is survived by his cousins, Nancy Taylor and husband Baxter, Laura Baxter and husband Jerry, Marilyn Barnett and husband Jack, and Lonnie Legg and his wife Deb; and extended family and many dear friends, including Martha Young and husband Tome.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 14, in the First United Methodist Church in Commerce.

Memorial donations may be made in Jack's name to Prevent a litter (PAL), a nonprofit 501(C)-3), P.O. Box 229, Commerce, 75429.
