Robert J. “Bob” Tisdall, a resident of Greenville for 52 years, died Sept. 14, 2008, at an Irving nursing center.
Born March 16, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of Henry C. and Elizabeth Davey Tisdall. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Rosemary; they married Jan. 17, 1953, in Dallas. Bob was a longtime deacon with First Baptist Church in Greenville and was a friend of Westminster Presbyterian Church. An accomplished bagpiper, Bob often played for community events, church services, funerals and police officer memorials.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen O’Dania of Irving, and his brother, Harry Tisdall of Syracuse, N.Y..
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Greenville. Graveside Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving.
