ARTESIA, N.M. — U.S. veteran services for Clyde Feezel are scheduled at 11 a.m. today at Terpening & Son Chapel in Artesia, N.M.
Mr. Feezel, 89, died May 5, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Mr. Feezel was born March 6, 1920, in St. Elmo, Ill., son of James Jacob and Lucy (Knaus) Feezel.
On Aug. 30, 1940, he married Eva Wilson in St. Charles, Mo. He came to Artesia in January 1947 from Brownstown, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a loading foreman at Navajo Refinery, a member of Fairview Methodist Church in St. Elmo, Ill., and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons David Feezel of Greenville and Tommy Feezel of Deer Park; daughters Catherine Patterson of Odessa and Janet Ream of Artesia, N.M.; a brother, Elmer Feezel of Brownstown, Ill.; sisters Elizabeth Johnson of Decatur, Ill., Georgianna Schultz of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Ina Abendroth of St. Elmo, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
