At around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Deputy Dykes with the Hunt County Sheriff's Office stopped a 2002 Mercury Marauder at the 98 mile marker on Interstate 30 for a traffic offense.
After speaking with the driver, identified as Brandon Ray Antwine, 26, of Texarkana, Dykes requested a back up unit to assist with a search of the vehicle. Deputy Beau Radney arrived and assisted with the search, locating seven baggies of cocaine hidden in the door post of the vehicle.
Antwine was taken into custody and booked into the Hunt County Jail for possession of between one and 400 grams of cocaine, which is punishable by imprisonment in the institutional division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life or for a term of not more than 99 years or less than 10 years, and a fine not to exceed $100,000.
The baggies contained 2.2 lbs of cocaine. Antwine was arraigned and released on a $45,000 surety bond.
