Fireworks shows planned all week

— The Bois D’Arc Fourth of July celebration is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. today at Centennial Park in Commerce. A canned food item for donation is the entry fee. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available and there will be bounce houses and other games for children. Live music will also be on the Bud Light Stage and a fireworks show presented by Pyrotex will begin at dark. Commerce Chevrolet and Ben E. Keith are title sponsors of this year’s event.


The 2018 Fireworks IN the Park event is scheduled at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Quinlan Community Park and will feature free admission with a DJ, splash pad, vendor booths and pyro music to accompany the fireworks at dark. Special guests will be members of all branches of the United States Armed Forces.


— The 2018 Sparks of Freedom event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Southlake Park in Farmersville and will feature food and games, live entertainment provided by North Texas Audio Video, with the Clay Potter Band performing during the evening, a Children’s Firefighter Challenge Area and a fireworks show at dark. The admission to the event is free Admission to the event, but donations will be accepted at the gate to benefit the Farmersville Volunteer Fire Department.

— The Rains County Heritage Park is presenting the Poppers In The Park fireworks show, starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Park, 835 West Lennon Drive in Emory.


— The Lone Oak Independence Day Celebration is scheduled to start with the Jimmy Payne Memorial Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Civic Center. The day will also include a fish fry fundraiser at noon, a car show, cow patty bingo, a hot dog eating contest, a dunking booth, a cutest pet contest, a water slide, live music and a street dance and fireworks at dusk.

— The West Tawakoni 3rd Annual Fireworks and Festival is being presented by the West Tawakoni City Park - Lake Tawakoni and C-T-n-A Fireworks and scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the park.
