Damage assessment teams currently in Hunt County

GREENVILLE — Damage assessment teams from the National Weather Service are meeting with emergency management officials from both Hunt and Rockwall counties at this hour, to review the tracks of the storms which passed through the area Tuesday.

Preliminary reports revealed that at least one, and possibly as many as three, tornadoes hit Hunt County yesterday, causing extensive damage primarily in the Union Valley/Royse City area.

Once the assessments are complete, the National Weather Service will release a report indicating how many tornadoes did track through the county, as well as give an estimate as to their severity.
