One confirmed tornado in Hunt County

GREENVILLE — Investigators with the National Weather Service have confirmed that a tornado struck the Union Valley/Royse City area, on the Hunt County side of the line, Tuesday afternoon.

After completing a damage assessment Wednesday, the tornado was rated as an F2, between 111 and 135 mph, and totally destroyed five homes along the north side of State Highway 276.
